I live in an apartment which overlooks a pond so I decided to purchase one of these after making sure there were no rules against it. I already own a Hobbyzone Firebird Freedom RC airplane so I know this company makes great products. The Zig Zag Racer turned out to be the perfect choice for my apartment pond. Its virtually silent so I don't annoy my neighbors but it zips right along and turns on a dime. The standard 6-cell battery pack might be fine for a swimming pool but in my opinion is not fast enough for a large pond. I would highly recommend the optional 7-cell battery packs and charger available at [...] (RA-H2/3A7R3FMTx2 and CHUN-123 and CN-Adaptor(F-M)MTM). This is by far the best price I have found on these battery packs and the charger works perfectly every time. The difference in boat speed was worth the extra cost, plus the same batteries and charger can be used for other Hobbyzone products (such as the Firebird Freedom).

Electronics, gadgets, and tools make up the majority of my Amazon purchases so I wasn't really sure about how to pick a good nail buffer. I use cyanoacrylate adhesives for my RC plane hobby and it's not uncommon for me to get some on my nails. I usually end up picking at the dried up glue and it leaves my nails looking scuffed up and cloudy. For this very reason I've purchased a nail buffer at Target before and it worked good enough for my needs but it fell apart after a single use. I decided to use Amazon this time around and trust the crowd rating to get a longer lasting buffer. This Flash Shiner Nail Buffer is on a whole other level. I really only intended to do the nails that had dried up glue on them, but they ended up looking so glossy and shiny that it made the non buffed nails look out of place. So, the next thing I know I buffed all the nails on my right hand. Of course then I look at one hand next to another and I have no choice but to remain symmetrical so, the left hand gets the same treatment. As I buffed away I couldn't get over how shiny my nails were becoming; it was like claying your car and having a fresh coat of wax! It's been 5 days since I buffed my nails and they still look like I have a clear coat on them. My girlfriend has her own thoughts on my nails now being glossier than hers so I'll be using this product sparingly, but my sister, mom, and coworker all have added this to their shopping list after having seen my nails. OK, that's enough...time to go kill something and eat it over an open fire I built with my bare (but beautiful looking) hands.

Anyone who is into the expensive RC vehicles instead of the young children's style ones you find at Target knows that the list price does not include any accessories like batteries, or fuel for you nitro heads, and things of that nature. This does. Traxxas has included pretty much everything you will need to get rolling as soon as you open the box. But, those powerful LiPo's are not included, and neither is the charger for the LiPo's.

When I was heavily into RC, nitro was my favorite. But, the somewhat recent release of these killer LiPo batteries had me salivating ... I had to see for myself. The sheer voltage they can unleash is unparalleled. More voltage = more power! If you can afford the 3S LiPo's, you will not be disappointed! However, they are hard to maintain and they are not included in the box. A charger for the LiPo's will run you roughly 75 dollars, and the top-of-the-line 3S LiPo's can run close to $120, if not more.

They are not kidding that this thing will do 50+ with 3S LiPo batteries. If you can afford the total cost, you will be satisfied.

Traxxas is known for their tough products. I also have a six year old T-MAXX that rarely breaks. I have upgraded the engine several times (the engines inherently don't last long), however I have put roughly 50 gallons of nitro through the transmission in my T-MAXX. The transmission still 100% stock and has had no upgrades or replacement parts from day one. Actually, I have replaced the shaft with the reverse gear with a forward only shaft, but that was only out of personal preference, not because something broke. Plus, the radio I use is only 2 channel (it's old but trustworthy). This boat is no exception. Traxxas is awesome.

4ch Remote Helicopter Drift King

I have been looking at purchasing a remote control helicopter for a long time, but had too many hobbies that came before R/C products. I bought the jxd drift king as an entry level helicopter, before moving on to bigger helicopters. I knew nothing about functionality or durability with any of the small indoor copters, but I finally flew a friend's drift king. For the price, I thought that I had nothing to lose. It was easy to fly right out of the box, considering the last time I controlled a moving object by remote was a toy remote control car from the 80's. I learned to fly this copter very well within 4 or 5 flights. It is very easy to maneuver and fly into tight spaces around the house. As far as durability, I have crashed the living (fecal material) out of this helicopter. I have flown it into the wall, dropped it from every bit of my 12 foot cielings, crashed it into furniture, and had my 2 year old grab it by the tail rotor and sling it across the room. The only damage is a few dents in the plastic blades. It comes with an extra set, but I am waiting until the damage on the current blades causes poor flight. This thing just keeps flying. Other reviews give it less stars for flight performance issues, but I don't know enough to complain about how it flies. I just bought one of the big double horse copters, and it is easy to fly due to my practice with the jxd drift king. My drift king will fly for about 10 minutes on a single charge and takes about 30 minutes to recharge. The 4 channel allows you to make sharp turns at high speed, once you get the hang of sideways flight. I could go on and on. For the expert, you may be bored with this little copter, but for the beginner, get one.

Best Review on Syma Channel Remote Control Helicopter

The good:

I got this in the mail today and I have to say it looks better in person; the white and gold look very sleek (5 stars for it's looks). I read some good reviews about this helicopter online and decided it would be a nice upgrade from my 2 channel propel mini rc heli; which performs well and has gone 2 years and hundreds upon hundreds of crashes without breaking once. But enough about my old heli, the 107g is a great mini helicopter; it's 3.5 channel control allows the pilot to control lift, left and right turning, and forward / reverse which is awesome! 5 stars for being an affordable 3.5 channel heli. The quality of this heli is great, the manufacturer really spared no expense in using great parts on this great little heli(5 stars for quality). I've crashed it a few times and it doesn't show a single scratch, I give durability 4 stars since I've barely owned it

The Bad:

In all honesty, this heli performs exactly as it should. My only complaint is that the heli isn't very fast out of the box. Considering it's an indoor helicopter, slower speeds are definitely a good feature for those who haven't mastered the controls. This can't really be considered a big complaint considering how easily it can be modified to allow faster speeds for more advanced flyers (next section).

Mods:

1.) After reading about buying aftermarket rotor blades, spinning the rotor upside down, etc etc, I decided to simply remove a few pieces of the helicopter. I removed the 2 bars and the piece connecting them to the tail bar, along with the tail fin (not to be confused with the rotor). This does a few things: 1) lowers weight of the helicopter 2) increases power (due to weight loss) 3) increases battery life (due to weight loss) 4) makes the heli much faster and more responsive. Please note that the heli will be much faster than before, but it will be slightly less stable due to the lowered weight and increased speeds. Take it easy the first few times around the living room, it will take some getting use to.

2.) If your a speed freak and want the fastest s107g out there then you can also remove the landing bars. I don't recommend this for a small inside area as it can make it difficult to navigate around furniture and tight spaces. I would recommend this for people who fly in large indoor areas or outside as the speed increase can be fun. If that's not fast enough for you, then you can try the rotor flipping mod and replace the stock rotor with some fancy aftermarket one. If that isn't fast enough then, good for you, you have a house the size of a football field. :p

Breif Review:

The 107g is a great mini rc helicopter, looks great, flies great, has great stability. It is a little slow out of the box, but that can easily be fixed (see mods section above). Overall I rate this little heli a 5/5. It has everything I want in an indoor heli and I couldn't be happier for this low price. If you like flying the 2 channel indoor heli's then this is a great upgrade!

I would say this is a verry nice boat. i wanted somthing to run in small creeks and was about to buy a traxxas blast but then i saw this... for what i wanted to do it was perfect i had never seen a rc fanboat. other propeller driven boats wouldnt even come close in shallow creeks in pa where i live. this thing has plenty of power its basicly an airplane motor. its got enogh power to fly across tile floor at 10mph. it goes about 8-10 on the water. it will turn on a dime. its got a 380 size motor wich is a very popular size hobby grade rc motor availible for under 20$ at any hobby shop so you can easily upgrade to much more power. you could also install a brushless motor kit with lipo batterys and probly hit 40mph. The quick charger it comes with actually is verry quick about 20-30 mins and its rtr. i got about 20 mins use from the stock pack. i had ordered the duratrax 1600 spare batterys for 15$ a peice. its called a mini but i was really surprised by the size its pretty big by my standards i guess rc boats must be xl to handle waves because this isnt a small boat. the transmitter is nice with a very long antenna. overal i would highly recomend this as is for the price or for the potential. im 25 and enjoy it so much me and my 4 yo fight over it haha he usaually wins. after owning this several weeks and using it a bunch i have more to add, I would strongly recomend the duratrax 1600 battery for this boat they run wayyy long amd actually give it more power and add about 3mph to the top speed. also i run the boat in some pretty fast streams with small rapids and it does quite well... and yes i have sunk it numerous times weel flipped it moreless, and it seems to be totally waterproof. i just get in afyer it and flip it upright and off it goes perfectly fine. my 4yo drives it well on ponds its very easy to handle and will not flip under its own power, unless you run over a rock or driv it up under the white water but thats another story. Its a great product. i planto add a Titan 18 turn 380 motor from the traxxas race cars for about 15$ the hobby store says it will make a huge difference in speed but it really is good enogh as is.

Awesome Micro EDF but not for Beginners

Before getting this plane out of the box, I recommend the following: setting exponential and dual rates in your transmitter and be ready to add some weight on the front because this plane was very tail heavy. I set the expos at 55% for Aileron, Elevator and 45% for rudder. On top of that I set the ailerons at 60% dual rate. This was the only way I was able to fly without destroying the plane on the first attempt because this thing is fast, very fast for a park flyer. I flew it in a 300 ft by 300 ft park area and I was almost going in circles because it covered corner to corner in a matter of seconds at 1/2 to 3/4 of throttle. I also had to add about 6 grams of weight (there is some space under the canopy at the front) to be able to achieve the CG location as instructed in the manual. This is very important because with the CG out this plane will be almost impossible to control. After all these adjustments I have to say this plane is a blast. It flies straight like an arrow and it is beautifully detailed. It is really incredible and a childhood dream come true for us old kids to have such a small scale wardbird jet fly on remote control. Get an extra battery or two because the flight time is about 3 minutes tops. LIke other reviews pointed out, this plane is extremely delicate and you will rip it to pieces if you are not careful. It is best to keep it in the box as much as possible. Other than that, it is a total blast and definitely recommend it for those who have flown rc planes before.

I wanted a flight simulator so I'd have a more successful time learning to fly my new 4 channel RC helicopter. At first I looked for a cheap simulator, but it wouldn't work with Windows 7. I considered Phoenix, but I don't recall the reasons I didn't purchase that package. I finally decided to buy the Realflight Helicopter simulator and I'm very glad I did. This package is amazing. I have my choice of several planes, from high-wing trainer to jets, and my choice of helicopters - trainers to 3D. I also have my choice of different flying environments - water and land. I was an RC airplane pilot, so just for fun I flew a float plane in the Louisiana Bayou. As if all of this wasn't enough, I stumbled on an entire training section that has videos of instructors showing each progressive step necessary to learn to fly. I'm getting pretty good at hovering from different perspectives of viewing the helicopter, so very soon I'll try flying my RC heli with confidence. Don't cheap out on a simulator, this thing will pay for itself in fewer crashes and overall entertainment.

The quick charger it comes with actually is verry quick about 20-30 mins and its rtr. i got about 20 mins use from the stock pack. i had ordered the duratrax 1600 spare batterys for 15$ a peice. its called a mini but i was really surprised by the size its pretty big by my standards i guess rc boats must be xl to handle waves because this isnt a small boat. the transmitter is nice with a very long antenna. overal i would highly recomend this as is for the price or for the potential. im 25 and enjoy it so much me and my 4 yo fight over it haha he usaually wins. after owning this several weeks and using it a bunch i have more to add, I would strongly recomend the duratrax 1600 battery for this boat they run wayyy long amd actually give it more power and add about 3mph to the top speed. also i run the boat in some pretty fast streams with small rapids and it does quite well... and yes i have sunk it numerous times weel flipped it moreless, and it seems to be totally waterproof. i just get in afyer it and flip it upright and off it goes perfectly fine. my 4yo drives it well on ponds its very easy to handle and will not flip under its own power, unless you run over a rock or driv it up under the white water but thats another story. Its a great product. i planto add a Titan 18 turn 380 motor from the traxxas race cars for about 15$ the hobby store says it will make a huge difference in speed but it really is good enogh as is.

I purchased this charger from Amazon a few weeks ago. Let me just say you probably don't want to use this charger at it's rated 50 watts. It gets a bit too warm at that level. Try using 40 watts for the max. Remember watts is volts times amps. I couldn't get my computer to work with the charger. Oh Well! I did install rubber feet on top of the feet that are already there to help out with cooling. You can get a whole pack of them cheap almost anywhere. I have watched this charger through many charge cycles while charging just about all types of batteries. I think it does a very good job. Just keep in mind if you want a super duper fast charger you are looking in the wrong place. A real fast charger costs much more. Fast charging also knocks the crap out of your batteries. This charger comes with many charging pigtails. You would pay more for the pigtails if you purchased them separately than you paid for the charger. This makes it a great deal in my opinion. I just have to say it again. This is a very good charger. I liked this charger so much I just pruchased a second one just like it. Just remember one thing. This goes with all chargers not just this one. Never leave a charger unwatched while charging batteries. Especially Lipo's. Always monitor battery temperature as well as charger temperature and follow the manufacturers instructions not only for the battery but the charger as well. Happy Charging!

This is a very enjoyable plane to fly. It almost flies itself and you can really enjoy it stress free. I first purchased a Radian last year. It was the Ready to Fly (RTF) model. I had allot of fun with it during the spring, summer and fall at the beach. I really abused the hell out of that plane. It was my first try at RC planes. I would constantly have people coming up to me to talk about it. Sometimes it was to much attention. One guy asked me if I was a really pilot. Most were amazed when I told them this was my first plane and I had just begun flying. Well needless to say I finally had one crash to many and salvaged all the parts I could knowing I would be getting another for 2013. It was a broken cable connector that finally finished the plane and it crashed into the atlantic ocean about 50 feet out from shoreline. It didn't take to long for it to wash up and that was that. Now I have many extra parts. Even the receiver still works so the plug and play (PNP) version was the best option for me this time around. I got to the point on steady windy days I could hover like a kite with the right amount throttle and even fly backwards. I don't think you can find a more enjoyable and stress free plane to fly as a beginner.

Best Review on TM1000 Full Range Aircraft Telemetry Module

The TM1000 telemetry system works best with Spektrum receivers that have a data port. The system will also work by powering the tm1000 module directly, and not from a data port... but you will not have any data logging functionality, and this modification is reserved for those more experienced with electronics. However, the tm1000 is a standalone data transmitter (see the antenna wire extending from the unit)

This kit includes your basic temperature and battery voltage sensors. I would argue the batt voltage sensor is the most valuable item in the whole telemetry system. With this kit you are able to set an alarm on your (telemetry capable) RC transmitter, or on your iphone (if you purchase the Spektrum STI - recommended), to alert you when battery voltage drops below a certain level. Therefore, you can land the plane safely without keeping track of flying time or risking damage to the battery or plane electronics from over-draining the batt.

The battery voltage sensor must be spliced into your battery circuit. Spektrum offers plug and play battery voltage connectors separately.

The temperature sensor is handy for keeping track of the temps inside your plane to ensure safety for the electronics. The temp sensor doesn't seem to be very essential, but is included and is a small sensor, so why not.

Spektrum offers additional sensors such as airspeed and altitude. Unless you plan to set audible alarms for these sensors.. these arent as useful. You really do not have time to look down at your transmitter or phone long enough to read the numbers while flying. Alternatively, have a second person monitoring/reading you telemetry data so you can keep eye contact with the plane.

Information refresh rates are about every 1-2 seconds. This is fine for voltage and temperature sensors, but airspeed and altitude are much less useful at these slow refresh rates.

The tm1000+ wires are large enough, and heavy enough, that you won't be installing this telemetry set in a micro model. Park flyers are fine.

Overall construction is very good.

I would recommend this product based on the battery voltage monitoring alone, plus the other sensors for fun.

These Quadrotors are a hoot! This one can be tamed for beginners with a computer radio like a DX6i. And they will handle quite a lot of breeze- I've never broken mine!

There are other Quadrotors on the market; my personal favorite is the Syma X1 (see my review and the RCmania.com review). The X1 is a first: a disposable RC for the very worst places and conditions! Actually, I haven't lost or broken mine yet- but it is surely only a matter of time...

Update: I still haven't broken either this mQX or my Syma X1, but it turns out that the mQX is a little fussier than the X1; the motors slip out of their sleeves and the set screws on the rotor shafts are too small. I can live with this because it takes a lot of abuse without breaking- and it flies like a dream indoors with the dual rates set way down for obstacle courses, etc.

So, still five stars (but the X1 is easier to live with...)
