Best Review on Syma Channel Helicopter Chinook Control

Syma Channel Helicopter Chinook Control

I really liked the Syma 022 looks, but the 27Mhz Transmitter was a turn off with the know problems of signal lost. I wasn't too crazy about the price of the S022. So when I saw the Syma S34 with the 2.4Ghz Transmitter, at a lower price than the S022, I was ready to buy. I did some checking on the length of this model and at many sites it was listed as being 18" long. The Syma S023 is 15" so I figure it will be something bigger than the S023, a feature I really wanted. When I got the model ... it was a tiny 11 inches! Amazon has it listed as 11.5". Why all those sites showed it as being 18 inches is beyond me, but it is not.

So if a bigger size is wanted in this model you won't get it ... unless you think 11 in. is big. It doesn't have the blinky light under this model as they do its baby sister the S026G. It flies and handles very nice. No signal lost at all with the 2.4G Tx. I would have given this model 5 stars if not for the disappointment in the size. I've only had the product for a week, but so far so good ... if something happens and it fails I will update this review.

Both little and big kids will enjoy this heli. It is fast as far as the other Syma models go that are in this size range. Of course I crashed it a few times, but Syma makes mostly durable helis. If you like the Syma helis ... you will like the Syma S34 too. If you are new to Syma helis this will be a fun model to learn on.

Lutema Avatar Hovercraft Control Helicopter

I was first skeptical about buying this Lutema helicopter as it is a little more expensive than other similar products in the market; however it turns out to be a great buy. I expected it to last for a few days only but it's been more than a month now and still going good. It is much more durable and reliable than I expected.

Even though it had been softly crashed into walls and furniture a few times and a few hard landings, but it is so lightweight and durable that the only damage I've experienced are a few nicks in the plastic main rotor blades. And the spinning blades haven't damaged anything in the house.

The control on this helicopter is simply amazing. It is so easy to use and hover around in any direction that even a beginner can fly it safely right out of the box. Some of my friends were flying like a pro after couple of tries. They felt in love with this toy that now everyone owns one too.

Great Planes RealFlight Interlink GPMZ4482

The reason you start here is this is the lowest end programable radio in the line. It will also carry you all the way through the Blade 450D. So for the low price of 160 bucks you have a radio that will start you off and take you all the way to 3D flying. Additionally, with a 10 model memory, you can have quite a few aircraft in your fleet and still have the ability to fly any of them.

The programability is very important as it can completely change the feel of your aircraft to your preferences. If you are flying a Blade helicopter, then all the programing parameters can be found with the helo or online. There are also some ebooks I have found which have good information on what each function does. This is important as the manual is lacking in why or why you would or would not want to do something.

So the place to start learning to fly an RC Helicopter is with this radio and the Phoenix R/C Pro Simulator Version 3.0. Put your hours in practicing maneuvers on the sim. After you've got those down, unplug, your radio (unfortunately, as of right now the Blade mCP X requires collective reversing for DX6i while in the sim it uses normal collective so you will have to change models.), change models to the live model and fly.

For the price this radio has some amazing features. I have paid a lot more for a far less capable radio.

Blade MCX2 Helicopter Transmitter Included

After taking a step back from my first collective pitch fight attempts I took my repair budget and I got this little indoor bird (BNF). Bound it to my DX6i, which is a very simple process, and with a bit of trimming it was off in the air. Very easy to fly, very stable hovering, incredible performance for a nano coax and so easy on the eye. For my purpose, the perfect trainer and extremely forgiving. Crashing frequently on the first few batteries did not harm it a bit, neither took the furniture it hit any scratches. A pice of beautiful engineering with only one minor drawback, the battery charger does not come with an AC adapter and must be charged from AA batteries. Cheap considering the price point of the package, and expensive considering you get only about 20 charges out of a set of batteries. Well, the fun you will have with this incredible little heli will get you over the extra investment of the adapter as you will want a second battery anyway to keep it up in the air.

Have fun.

Heli Max 1SQ Ready To Fly QuadCopter HMXE0834

If this type of R/C device intrigues you and you wonder whether you should get the Heli-Max or the standard helicopter, by all means, get this, the Heli-Max.

I started with co-axial heli's, then moved onto the Blade MSR. The Blade was great and got me hooked, but it is so prone to breakage, it has never been the same after the first dozen or so flights. After many replacement parts including a $60 5-1 receiver, it worked for about a day and now the tail motor is going out. Despite all this, I bought a Blade MSR X, the next gen micro. Once again, first flights were great, but after a few days, the performance started to deteriorate. The MSR X is also more difficult to fly over the MSR, and I still haven't perfected either by a long shot.

Introduce the Heli-Max. Cheaper than the Blade products, I had my doubts but was coerced by my daughter to purchase. Now this is a tiny machine, which is perfect for indoor use. From my previous experience with the Blade heli's, I was an immediate pro at the Heli-Max. It is stable beyond belief, and it's simple design makes it much more durable than the relatively complicated heli's. Surprisingly, the Heli-Max preforms very well outdoors in light winds too. It is just an amazing little machine that is giving me the satisfaction I wanted from the heli's without any of the disappointments.

Let me tell you about this syma micro heli. I think i am more than qualified to give a objective review. I own 7 different 3 channel micro coaxial heli's, plus another 8 helis's of all kinds. I have been flying rc helis since the mid 70's. Back then the helis didn't even fly and there wasn't anything called a gyro. Some people consider me to be a expert rc heli pilot. I consider my self just to be a good 3d heli pilot. I can't find any difference between a s107 and a s107G except some of the colors. I bought 2 extra syma s107G's just for parts. Maybe some day i will need the parts. I have wore out tons of batteries but my 107's are still flying. I have crashed them into the ceiling, walls, the fan, the stove and my dog grabed it right out of the air. These are the most durable micros i have. I have one 107 with all the modifications you can intall on it. For relaxed flying i just perfer the stock version except for one change. I install the 240ma battery you can buy here on amazon. I get 2 more minutes flying time out of this battery. Also it makes the heli nose heavy. When you let go of the stick the heli always starts foward. This helps if you get des-orinatated. Yes this even happens to the best heli pilots. In a hover i just hold a little back stick. This is a habit i have from flying the nitro burning helis. With this battery when you lift the heli up by the flybar the rear of the skids lift a 1/4 inch off the surface before the front part of the skids do. This is perfect for me. Here is a example. If you lose orintation of the heli and it is backing up when you let go of the sticks the heli will stop and start slowly forward and give you a chance to reorintate with the heli. If the heli is laying on it side on the floor i just give it throttle and the heli uprights itself, really neat. I use JST connectors on the heli and batteries. This allows me to just plug battery's in the heli. Here is some advice. If you just want to have a lot of fun you just can't beat a syma 107 for fun, durability, cost to operate, and reliability. I have over 300 flights on my 107's and they are still going strong. Now if you want to progress to flying regular rc heli's then buy a four channel heli either coaxial, fixed pitch, or collective. The 3 channel heli teaches you one very bad habit that is very hard to ovecome. In this country we fly what is called mode 2. This means the tail rotor is on the left stick not the right stick like a three channel. I personally feel the Blade mcx2 RTF is the best 4 channel micro heli you can buy. You can purchase it right here on amazon for about $120.00. So if you want to eventualy fly the big nitro, gas, or electric heli's this is a great way to start. Whatever you decide just have fun. This is a very challenging hobby but well worth it.

Best Review on Swann SWTOY BSWANN US Stealth Helicopter Camera

Swann SWTOY BSWANN US Stealth Helicopter Camera

This is an impressive program that is very realistic and helpful in improving your piloting skills for all sorts of model aircraft. I have used this to fly both power planes and Helicopters. I run this software on a Win7 system with no problems, it's smooth with no stutter. This software comes with a USB cable that allows you to plug directly into your Spectrum or JR radio. I have tested it with a DX7 and a JR 9503, both work great (I know it also works with a DX6). The cable has a circuit that verifies you have a valid license, and one really nice benefit is that for the years I've had this, I've continued to receive free updates. I originally purchased v2.5 a couple years ago and it's up to v4.0 now and I still get updates, support, and new models. Very nice! I know the competitors charge upgrade fees every year.

To use the software you setup a model on your radio specifically for the software. I called my "model" Phoenix. Then you go through a tuning process where you move the sticks and switches to show the software just what you have and how things work. Once you have the software and radio communicating well, it'll work very nicely. The setup process is simple and can easily be changed if you want to setup another radio.

I learned the hard way to fly via a very time consuming cycle of building for a month, flying a little and then building for days, weeks and months again. It was a difficult process and took years to actually learn to fly well. The good news is that I learned to build really well in that time! Due to my experience, I didn't have much faith in a simulator. My friends kept telling me to try a simulator and after several crashes that hurt my pocketbook, I decided to give this tool a try. I have been very impressed with this software. It works better than I expected and is a very useful and functional tool for improving your skills.

The software features include real flying sites that are actual pictures of real places. Very cool and impressive fields, dozens of planes, gliders and helicopters of all types. I like trying other models to see how they perform compared to the ones I fly. This software includes most of the Horizon Hobbies models which are nice to fly with since so many people are flying BNF models lately. I also like Flying the Align Helicopters since that's what I've been flying lately and they are here too.

To use this as a tool rather than a game requires you to focus as if it's a real flight and treat it like one. Since I'm currently working on Heli skills, I have it default to my current helicopter (Align 450 Pro, and now Gaui X5). I have the radio programmed so the functions, switches and actions simulate the model I will be flying in real life. I also use a watch timer and time my flights so that I'm simulating the timer on the radio and working to fly, not crash and then land all in a realistic situation. By treating it like a real flight and focusing I've seen and experienced real improvements in my heli flying. I've been able to practice difficult moves on the simulator and once I have them down and don't crash I've been able to take that to the real heli and fly those moves there.

In real life there are things that are more difficult than the simulator, for example tail washout or winds. Still the simulator gives me an amazing way to improve and is really beneficial during inclement weather.

I highly recommend purchasing this, especially if you already have a radio that will work with it. It's a valuable tool that will easily pay for itself in saved time and expense by avoiding crashes. Any of the Specktrum radios will work with this. I recommend a DX6 or better since you'll want to have the more advanced features as you move up through your models. The DX7 is a great radio for this, especially if you are flying helicopters.

5 stars, great simulator, and with free upgrades for years is an amazing value.

Best Review on Newest Model Channels RC Helicopter

Newest Model Channels RC Helicopter

I upgraded to DSMX system because I wanted the extra safety that a DSMX radio provides over a DSM2 system. The DSM2 radio scans the band, picks 2 frequencies to use and then sends the data over those to channels to the receiver for the duration of the flight. While that is very nice, in a crowded environment you can have glitches (and unfortunately I've lost planes due to this). The DSMX system picks 10 free frequencies and splits the data over those during the life of the connection. This frequency hopping spread spectrum communication is about as reliable as possible with a RC system. Add to this the signal/antenna diversity you get by using the satellite antenna and you will have a very safe and secure connection with your flying craft.

This receiver is on I find works very well installed in 450 sized helicopters. The end connections work well due to the way 450 helis are laid out. This receiver is rated for park fliers and thus they don't claim the full normal distances for flying. I would use a larger receiver with a satellite for anything larger than a 450 helicopter. I've used this in several 450's without issue for some time now. I don't fly more than 150 yards away due to the size of the heli and the need to always see the orientation. If you are outfitting a larger helicopter or a plane that you would fly farther away than 150 years, I suggest you consider this receiver: Spektrum AR7010 7-Channel DSMX Receiver SPMAR7010

There are knock off DSM2 receivers which are ok to use in foamies and smaller planes, but for anything expensive that could kill someone if it hit them; I stick with the more secure and safe frequency hopping multi-channel systems.

One great benefit of using a DSMX transmitter is that it's also backward compatible with your DSM2 receivers, so they will continue to serve you until you can slowly upgrade the fleet to DSMX receivers.

5 stars, the DSMX system is very reliable and this receiver works great.

If you want something that looks more realistic and can be flown indoors or outdoors, but you're a novice, this is a great choice for you.

You should be reasonably competent with your $25.00 binary 3 channel before you attempt this one and you should keep in mind it's dynamics are a little different, i.e. there's no slow gradual lifting off it seems. You have to advance the throttle with some authority, then reduce it without delay once it's airborne. If you try a gentle lift-off it wants to simply skid off and collide with something hard. I started out with little tiny hops on my pool table surface and I still do that sometimes as a warm up.

Probably best to do first flights outdoors because ceilings and nearby objects like furniture are a problem, but watch the altitude and the wind. It will quickly become a dot in the sky and head for the nearest tree.

This seems to be the same helicopter sold by other vendors as the V911. I know it's rotor and balance bar are interchangeable with WL Products V911 and at a lower price than Brookstone charges for just the rotor, tail prop, and links. I believe the undercarriage is also interchangeable and I will find out soon for sure, having just broken mine. I've also read that a complete helicopter without transmitter can be bought for something like $30.00

This appears to be the only one that is both 3 and 4 channel though and that is an advantage since you can get familiar with it in 3 channel before transitioning to 4.

Overall I would recommend this helicopter if you're really enthusiastic and can live with the inevitable parts replacements.

Best Review on Syma Channel S107 Co Axial Helicopter

Syma Channel S107 Co Axial Helicopter

The product came in very strange boxing, the rc box barely fit into the amazon box, which had bowed out a bit,but did not damage it at all.
Charging is a bit off on the one I got, from reviews it seems like it might be just a problem with the battery, my problem is sometimes it wont charge from the controller(the safe way to charge it) unless the battery goes low enough that rotors cut off power. Its not a huge deal you just have to run the power out a bit more, and frankly I'm fairly interested in buying a battery upgrade for it once I figure out which battery fits this design well since weight and balance is a concern.

Overall it just is such a solid design over the cheap $10-$30 competitors that the battery issue is completely nonexistent, if you are buying a rc heli and dont know what to get, get a syma 107g of your choice, amazon has several variants that are sold by a few vendors, check one that is sold nearby you, with decent reviews.

Seriously, this thing is extremely solid, you stop holding forward on the remote and the thing balances itself almost EXACTLY where you let go, due to the slight rocking motion, its perfect. It can even fight flying around fans and air circulation indoors fairly well :)

This is my first ever copter and it is SO much fun. After about the 4th battery charge I am able to hover and control the copter fairly well. As other reviewers have said: it's fast (VERY fast), durable (I've crashed it at least 10 times sideways into things at speed and it has held up with no damage). The real trick to these machines is to start slow and be patient. Let your brain and muscle memory build up to what is going on. It may take a few hours of practice but if you stick with it you will have a boatload of fun. To be able to fly a 3-D vehicle is a real accomplishment no matter how you look at it. Now, I have to try and impress my two sons with my flying prowess ;)

Things you should know:

1) the manual is a joke - but other reviewers have covered that with good suggestions.
2) The battery plug tabs are WAY to strong. It took two pairs of needle-nose pliers to separate the battery from the copter. I took a razor knife and trimmed the tabs completely off. The battery will not come unplugged even with the tabs gone so I am not sure why these tabs are so aggressive. If you don;t trim these tabs, you may end up pulling the wires out of the connectors or damaging the copter as you yank the connectors free.
3) The batteries do charge quickly and seem to have the battery life stated. I ordered extra batteries and another charge as well as some spare parts (just in case) online at "banggood.com". Great prices.
4) when the battery you are operating off of runs out, the copter basically falls out of the sky. I am not sure how to predict when this will happen so you kind of need to be prepared for it after it "seems" like you've been flying for a while.

Have Fun!

I have posted a Video here unlike the other 2 viewers and have other Master CP videos at youtube have a total of 159 videos posted there of most of my 31 helos and quads I have, so back to Master CP, yes I heard about the servos stripping, I bought a couple extras just in case, so far no problem with any broken parts and I have slammed the helo on the ground twice with nothing more than the Main motor moves and disengages the pinon from the main gear saving your gear, head and servos, maybe the guys stripping servos have their Main motor tighten down to hard, I love the fact mine will the pinon away from the main gear in any crash, hard landing or abrupt stopping of the blades, saves parts, you can tell by the video the head speed is very fast even though its a 200 size helo the motors spins and sounds like that from a 400 or 450 class, love this helo a bit high here though its $140 at banggood dot com, I got mine when it 1st came out $99, so I really got a steal on it. Mine works great with my Devo 7, I already had a 2 and 3 cell balanced charger and got my batts from Ebay for $15 each free shipping on all of this.

I own several of these timers and am buying several more for gifts. They are perfect for intervals under an hour, because when they go off and you hit stop, they go back to the time you originally set, instead of going to zero. So if you hit the button again it starts over from that same original time, without having to input it again. I use this timer for baking batches of cookies, timer goes off, I hit the stop, put in the next tray of cookies, hit the button again, and it starts timing down for the next batch of cookies without having to re-input the time. Very efficient. Also good for turning meat on the grill at a fixed interval, and even for yoga and meditations where I am changing positions at fixed intervals. I have other timers for intervals longer than an hour, but these are the most used timers in my kitchen because most of what I am preparing needs to cook for less than an hour anyway. This one is perfect for what it does.

My review of the Syma S109 applies equally to this littler heli (in fact, this one gets downright fast when you remove the horizontal stabilizer): Like the Syma S108 (see my review and RCmania.com review), all the great Syma S series are a little underpowered above 5000ft. This Apache version has quite a few exterior parts that can be removed to lighten the heli so that it will fly briskly (and you will also get the advertised battery life) at higher altitudes.

Our family has owned many of the Syma S series and love them all because the 3 channel controls are so precise and they fly so eagerly. Perfect starter RC heli. Excellent introduction to hovering (its default posture), scale flying (circuits and patterns, figure eights, etc.) and nose in orientation.

A good next step up is a 4 channel coaxial, followed by single rotor Fixed Pitch (see my reviews of Eflite Blade's MCX, WI Toys 911 and Double Horse 9116).

Best Review on Tachyon XC OPS Helmet Camera

Tachyon XC OPS Helmet Camera

This camera by far suprised me end over end. For $90 i told myself this would be a greatly priced camera to give me an added angel to my gameplay videos while playing airsoft but this camera is worth more then that. for $90 the audio quality is amazing and is a huge improvement from their past waterproofed cameras ( as expected) but still for $90 audio gets 5 stars in itself. As far as video is concerned this is Tachyon's "standard definition" camera, but even then the quality is defintiely usable for any application ( except scuba diving of course).
On top fo thsi instead of just coming with one mount this camera comes with a clip mount ( for base ball hat brims), a tripod mount, the helmet mount with the amazing 3m strips and impact armor to protect the camera from projectiles.

All in all i cant wait for the HD version to come out because if this camera was STANDARD at $90 the HD will be well worth the money at $140. Thanks again tachyon for a great product!!!!!

LOVE IT!!, but NOT for RC heli beginners

SR UH 1 Huey Gunship RTF

This is not to be confused with the coaxial TOY Huey's which swarm the market. This is an entry level collective pitch helicopter, and will require many hours of practice to become proficient at standard forward flight. If you are new to CP (collective-pitch) helicopters be prepared to crash A LOT. As far as replacement parts, Blade makes them affordable and easy to come by via the inter-webs or your local hobby shop. Expect to spend more than the initial cost of the helicopter itself in parts if you are just starting (though it would be advised to consider purchasing an RC flight-sim like Phoenix4 when you consider the overall cost of parts during the learning process). Don't let the other reviews fool you, RC helicopters are unstable by nature, and again will take many hours of practice to master; But, it's time well spent once you have.

Excellent remote receiver for helicopters and others with lots of carbon

Read First Before Buy Spektrum 9645 DSMX Remote Receiver

Spektrum 9645 DSMX Remote Receiver

Moving into larger helicopters means I need to be careful to assure that my radio signals make it to the heli as the cost and risk of crashing gets worse with size. Flying a Gaui X5 which has an over 4 foot wing span I wanted to add an extra satellite receiver to assure signal path diversity. The frame is all carbon and the risk is that in certain orientations the helicopter can block the signals, thus adding a remote to each side resolves this.

This remote works great with my Mikado VBar system, I simply plug it into the flybarless controller and it becomes a DSMX radio Flybarless controller. Very nice system.

5 stars, this receiver and the DSMX system is very reliable and works great.

Best Review on Blade BLH3200 mSR X RTF

Blade BLH3200 mSR X RTF

I read a ton of reviews trying to figure out which heli to start out with, and landed on the MSRX - and I'm really glad I did. But it's not the right first heli for everyone.

So, here's what I'd suggest:
- If you're a really fast learner and have previous R/C airplane experience (and not just toys - real ones), you can probably fly the MSRX pretty quickly. Keep it tail-in, start with low rates, and switch the pushrods on the swashplate to the shorter balls. And start indoors in a semi-open area (I'm in a place that has only a 10' diameter of clear floor). If you do all of that, you'll probably be fine.
- If you've never flown an R/C aircraft before, don't start here. It's very sensitive, very fast, and very easy to lose control, particularly if you get it turned around.

All in all, though, this thing is great - fast, fun, surprisingly durable, and easy enough to start with but plenty of room to grow and learn. I was hovering indoors the first flight, and quickly went outside in some light wind in a parking lot. I've crashed it lightly a number of times, dropping from even 5' onto pavement, and almost no damage whatsoever. Plus, there are plenty of spare parts!

Oh, and for me, I didn't use any training gear. Again, if you're indoors with soft surfaces, crashes are so gentle that you'll be fine.

Good luck!

100 Flights, No Problems

Best Review on mSR BNF Basic Transmitter included

mSR BNF Basic Transmitter included

I should first mention that I got this item as a gift, so I can't really provide my opinion based on value. This seems to be a big thing in the R/C heli world, so take it for that it is.

I got a Blade Scout CX as a gift and quickly decided I wanted something a little more agile and capable to fly around the apartment. In that area, the mSR-X is perfect. Mind you, this is the first thing beside the Scout CX that I have ever flown, so this thing has taken a beating in the learning process. I have about 30 flights into it now and am able to hover and do some basic movements around the room. From that, a few observations:

1. Out of the box you will need to buy a battery, charger and have some kind of radio to match to the heli. This is not a 'Bind and Fly,' as Blade markets their other helis; this is a 'Bind and Fly Basic.'
2. Because of the slight right hang when in hover, you will need to either compensate for forward movement when you yaw right or backward when you yaw left.
3. If your radio can mix, it is possible to make a mix that will correct during a yaw. It is specific to each individual heli and takes some time to find for your own.

Even with those three little things, I think the mSR-X is a blast to fly. Once you get it tuned in, it is a fast and nimble heli that can really take a beating. Just remember to cut that throttle the moment you see you are going to crash.

Happy flying!

A great entry-level helicopter for outdoor use

Most Popular on 2 4GHz Radio Single Propeller Helicopter

2 4GHz Radio Single Propeller Helicopter

The WL Toys V911 is a 4 channel fixed pitch helicopter with flybar that uses a 2.4 Ghz remote control. It is a great choice for people who are starting out with helicopters and want an inexpensive starter helicopter to use outdoors.

Because the helicopter is a fixed pitch helicopter with a flybar, it is moderately stable but can fly very quickly. Because it uses 2.4 Ghz, it has a good range and will not suffer from interference from strong lights. Because it has replaceable battery, when the battery dies, you can simply replace it with a charged one. Because it is 4 channels, you can fly forward and backwards, go up and down, spin left and right, and can slide to the left and right.

Be sure to buy extra blades and a screw kit. The blades tend to get damaged when they hit things. While the flybar won't get damaged, the pin that holds the flybar in place can become bent, and when that happens, the helicopter will lose some stability and may experience what is known as the toilet bowl effect. If you experience vibration, the screw that holds the flybar in place might be too loose. If you experience a toilet bowl effect, try loosening the screw that holds the flybar in place.

Quality control is an issue for this helicopter. The first one that I received had a bad gyro, and so it would turn to the right. WL Toys offers no U.S. based support, but you can find parts if you want to try to repair the helicopter yourself.

It is not a toy and because the blades can cause serious eye injury, you should not fly the helicopter near anyone and should not allow children to operate it.

If you don't mind spending a bit more, you should consider these helicopters:

Blade MCX2- Coaxial helicopter, 4-channel, replaceable battery, 2.4 Ghz controller. Great for indoor use, but can be used outdoors if there is no wind. Still slow. U.S. based support and good quality. Around $120.00 with the controller (less if you already have a compatible controller).

Blade CX2/CX4- Similar to MCX2, but considerably larger and so it can be flown in very light wind outdoors. Around $150 to $200. U.S. based support and good quality.

Blade SR 120- Fixed pitch, 4-channel, replaceable battery, 2.4 Ghz controller. Too large for indoor use. Great as a park flyer even with some wind. Very fast. Around $160.00 with the controller and $130 if you already own a Blade compatible controller. U.S. based support and good quality.

----
Here's a summary of the different technology choices when it comes to RC helicopters.

Blade Systems

Coaxial- A coaxial helicopter has two sets of blades, one on top of the other. Coaxial helicopters are generally very stable and move fairly slowly. They are great for beginners and for flying indoors.

Fixed Pitch- A single set of blades. Not as stable as a coaxial helicopter. Increasing the speed of the blades causes the helicopter to rise. Lowering the speed causes the helicopter to drop. A "FP" helicopter cannot fly upside down. Fixed Pitch helicopters are generally for intermediate flyers and are used outdoors.

Collective Pitch- A single set of blades whose pitch changes to raise or lower the helicopter. The speed at which the blades rotate are normally not changed. A "CP" helicopter can fly upside down. For advanced and expert flyers.

Stabilization Systems

Gyro- An electronic system inside the helicopter that prevents the helicopter from rotating in the direction opposite the blades. All modern helicopters have electronic gyros.

Flybar- Two weights that are connected together using plastic or metal and which spin around along with the helicopter blades. Helicopters that have a flybar will level off when you release the stick. Helicopters that do not have a flybar will not level off when you release the control stick. Helicopters without flybars are not suitable for beginners.

Control Systems

Infrared- Use infrared light to control the helicopter. Bright lights, sunlight, and TV remote controls will interfere with the operation of the helicopter. Not suitable for use outside during the daytime.

Radio (27 Mhz/2.4 Ghz)- uses radio waves to control the helicopter. Suitable for use indoors or outdoors.

Battery Systems-

Internal- a helicopter with an internal battery that cannot easily be removed. When the battery dies, the fun is over until you recharge it. Most helicopter batteries take about 30-50 minutes to charge and allow for about 5 minutes of run-time.

Replaceable- a helicopter with a battery that can easily be removed and recharged. When one battery dies, you just pull it out and put a fresh one in and continue flying.

My sons received 2 small indoor helicopters from their uncle for Christmas. Well my daughter was jealous and wanted one too after seeing how much fun the boys were having. The 2 they got were very hard to control and moved sporadically, crashed all the time, I couldn't even control them. I noticed they didn't have a rear propeller to keep them from going whatever direction it wanted. I ordered this one thinking it was the same as my sons for my daughter, similar price and description. Well when it came you could tell right out of the box it was extremely better quality, fit and finish. It also had a rear propeller, a whole set of extra replacement parts and a USB charger! Once charged me and her tested it out. It flew beautifully, it hovered still, went in any direction you commanded it to, etc. I would have easily paid double if I knew it was that much better. Only caution, it is for indoor use only, the RC signal gets interference outside and does not work properly.

Helidroid 3D works great (as described). Easy enough for most poeople to enjoy without getting too frustrated (like many other Helo games). You can use either GYRO CONTROL or on-screen JOYSTICK type Control. Both are very sensitive but Smoother and more Forgiving than most other Helicopter apps that I have tried in the past. This one is EASIER to LEARN and CONTROL so it is a definite KEEPER for me!

LIKES:
Very Good 3D Graphics, REALISTIC Movements and Good Physics makes great Helo Flying Fun.
Controls are the BEST I HAVE SEEN for this type of game with your choice of two good methods.
Music and Sound Effects are very nice and can be turned off if you like.
30 Well designed levels have Fun Challenges that get progressively harder.
Good Tutorial and Instructions for every mission level make playing easier and more enjoyabe.
Shooting Missiles at targets is a nice extra but takes practice to learn the right positioning to fire.
Game is somewhat forgiving if your Rotor gets too close to objects (does not persistently crash).

OVERALL:
Exceptional game that let's you have lots Fun instead of Frustrating you like most of this type. You do not need to be an experienced Gamer to master the controls and get Engaged in the game play. If you like the Basic Concept of Flight Simulation, you should like this game. I recommend it.

It will allow you to have enough practice to become a pro, and it will take the worst abuse!! Certainly you can not expect to be a pro at your first flight, you still need patience and common sense! Remember that this little bird has four channels, therefore it takes some acquaintance.
I have had three of them, i have crashed and crashed and they still give you fun. they will become less stable but you can replace the worn out buckles and broken props.
With a little time on your belt( a couple of weeks) you can fly them in windy conditions( of course not hurricane wind!!) may be about 5 to 10mhr wind, i did!
And it has a greater range than advertized. Literally excellent toy.
I will make sure to have always one for practice.

RS540 Sport Tuned Motor All

I got this charger because I have two RC planes that use little 1S 3.7v batteries and I wanted a good way to keep my plane in the air while cycling through batteries. This charger does the trick PERFECTLY. It comes with the AC wall adapter for charging at home, or via an AC adapter in your car, or you can go the route I do and use the alligator clips to hook it up to a 12v battery like those you'd find in UPS power backups. Using it that way, I can take a little 12v 7ah batterty with me to my flying field and use this charger to keep batteries for my plane filled up faster than I can use them.

The use of the unit itself is very simple! Just hook it up to a 12 volt power supply, plug your battery in, and wait for the light to turn green for the slot that your battery is plugged in to. It charges each slot individually so you can have three green lights, and one red light. Just grab a green light battery to swap out into your RC plane (or whatever you're using the batteries in) and put your spent battery in the slot and wait for it to turn green again.

Bottom line: If you want an inexpensive simple unit to charge up to 4 batteries at a time, independently, this is perfect. I strongly recommend it.
