This is my first ever copter and it is SO much fun. After about the 4th battery charge I am able to hover and control the copter fairly well. As other reviewers have said: it's fast (VERY fast), durable (I've crashed it at least 10 times sideways into things at speed and it has held up with no damage). The real trick to these machines is to start slow and be patient. Let your brain and muscle memory build up to what is going on. It may take a few hours of practice but if you stick with it you will have a boatload of fun. To be able to fly a 3-D vehicle is a real accomplishment no matter how you look at it. Now, I have to try and impress my two sons with my flying prowess ;)
Things you should know:
1) the manual is a joke - but other reviewers have covered that with good suggestions.
2) The battery plug tabs are WAY to strong. It took two pairs of needle-nose pliers to separate the battery from the copter. I took a razor knife and trimmed the tabs completely off. The battery will not come unplugged even with the tabs gone so I am not sure why these tabs are so aggressive. If you don;t trim these tabs, you may end up pulling the wires out of the connectors or damaging the copter as you yank the connectors free.
3) The batteries do charge quickly and seem to have the battery life stated. I ordered extra batteries and another charge as well as some spare parts (just in case) online at "banggood.com". Great prices.
4) when the battery you are operating off of runs out, the copter basically falls out of the sky. I am not sure how to predict when this will happen so you kind of need to be prepared for it after it "seems" like you've been flying for a while.
Have Fun!
This is an amazing little quadcoptor. It's insanely fast and a blast to fly, after you get used to the controls. The remote has an LCD screen that tells you the trim levels of all three axis, the flying mode (there is a 'beginners' mode and a more advanced mode'), and the battery level of the remote. You get 6-9 minutes of fly time on a battery, but there are two batteries in the box and a charger that will charge both at the same time. The only downside is the manual. It is written in really really poorly translated engrish. So you'll have to get your thinking cap on to re-translate everything.
BalasHapusHere's some pointers in case you get stuck (no this isn't a joke, these are the actual instructions and my interpretation of them):
1. "To open the remote controll,The light will shinning. You need to push the throttle to the biggest controlling position. And then turn to the bottom position.the guiding light will shinning.that means the controller had entered into the normal controlling condition." Translated from whatever language that is: "After connecting the battery on the UFO, push the remotes throttle control all the way up, then all the way down. Then your controller will sync, make a funny noise, and a light will come on. Hooray, you are connected."
2. "Put the UFO on the flat floor steaditly,And let the led light on the receipt board shinning quickly to slowly. The UFO has enter into the remote cobtroll condition". Translated from whatever language that is: "After connecting the battery, place your UFO on an even surface and leave it there until the little light under the ufo stops blinking rapidly. Once it slows to a stop your UFO has found 'level' and will fly nice and straight. Happy flying, Yank."
3. "After connecting the power, pls check rolling direction of the baldes.Ahead of the left/the back of right blades clockwise roration.,Ahead of right and back of left side anti-clockwise roration.". Its really just telling you that the motors rotate in opposite directions from one another, so when you replace the blades or snap them back onto their shaft, don't mix and match otherwise your UFO will just spin wildly. Which sucks.
Despite the hair pulling mess of a manual, this is really a solid little aircraft. I have slammed it into the pavement more times then I can count and its still tickin'
I saw one of these from another club member, and had a chance to fly it before i bought one. It is a fun little Quadcopter and showed up in a few days all in good shape. Very happy with the product and the seller.
BalasHapusHi, this is the fourth quadcopter in my collection, i own the blade mqx ($149), Heli Max 1SQ ($99), and Syma quadcopter ($35.99) that I purchased from Amazon, and this little beauty outshines them all in the fun factor when flying indoors. Its tiny, fast, and extremely manueverable. It has a slow mode and fast mode, and the slow mode is as fast as the other quadcopters in a higher price category. I love this thing, even though I own three other quad copters I cannot put this one down, its very agile and just looks amazing in the air. ONLY negative, on the second charge one of the ports on the included charger went dead!!! The charger has two ports for the two included batteries, and only one works after the first charge. Its not the end of the world, the charger is cheap and I will just order another charger because I don't want to bother with returning it to god knows where, paying for return shipping (was not sold and fulfilled by amazon), and waiting for them to exchange it. (I found the charger for under $5 on other websites).
BalasHapusLet me start by saying I'm new to rc copters but I have experience with mini rc cars (Losi micro rally) and planes (Hobbyzone Champ). I really wanted something to use primarily indoors so I did a bit of research and compared several different brands and different sized quadcopters.
BalasHapusI originally wanted the Heli-Max 1SQ but couldn't justify paying $100, especially due to the fact it only has one battery. Don't get me wrong, it is a great miniquad but not for the price. I also sat on the G-Maxtec 860 which is priced competitively, but it's a little too big for flying indoors.
DESIGN: Super lightweight and very agile. It can travel pretty fast! Go ahead and crash it around your living room. Don't worry about it breaking!
BATTERY: With the UDI quadcopter, you get two batteries which can be charged simultaneously via USB. This was the selling point for me. Nothing worse than only having one battery, getting a few minutes of flight time and having to wait another hour or so just to fly again!
REMOTE: The remote is very responsive and is equipped with a very accurate LCD screen which is a nice bonus! With it you can see the signal strength, battery life of the controller, flight adjustments, and throttle percentage. The thumbsticks are capable of quick mode (expert) and normal (slower). It can also do flips via a quick push of a button.
SPARE BLADES: You also get spare blades! At around $50 altogether it doesn't get any better than this!
My only gripes are very minuscule. The controller compartment for the batteries requires a phillips head screwdriver to open. A clip style design would have been easier, but not really a big deal. I was hoping for the blue designed UFO but received the orange as there really was no option to select a color through Amazon, however the display image is blue.
As far as RC toys go this has been the most fun for the money. Not a great idea for a first time flyer though.
BalasHapusI am learning to fly quads and got brave, took it to a field ran one battery mode1 and it was great. Put in second battery and switched to mode2. I had my back to the trees flying in the field, went way high, lost orentation and it went right into the top of a 60 foot tree, ug. I was pissed, went home cusing and ordered another one. I could not even see it in the tree, I went back one week later hoping to find for parts, no luck, 2nd week, no luck, 3rd no luck, now during this time it was freezing at night, rain, snow like twice. 4th week, found at the base of the tree, YA! It looked fine, disconnected battery and took home. Checked battery it was fine, hooked up the UFO and it worked perfect! could not even tell it had spent a month outside in wicked weather! I do suggest getting the AR Drone like canopy for inside flights, good protection and can fly a little more wild! I also suggest for outside, go to a very, very big field, like 4 football fields of no trees.
BalasHapusThis is my first quad but I am very pleased with my choice. It works flawlessly and is pretty robust although I would recommend flying indoors over carpet or over grass outdoors. I'm still learning how to control it and the larger the area the better. The battery connector locks in and is next to impossible to disconnect. I used a razor blade to shave the nubs off of the battery connector that engage and lock with the quads power connector. There is still plenty of friction to keep the connection solid but its no longer locked in and hard to get apart. Otherwise than that I think most would pleased with the purchase of this craft.
BalasHapusThis quadcopter is the best mini rc model I ve ever bought. Its battery is strong enough for a 10 minutes flight and it takes the quadcopter about 1 second the lift off and fly the first 3 yards(3meters) in the air.
BalasHapusThe controls are very accurate and the 360 flip is very neat. Since it is delivered with 2 batteries and spare parts its guaranteed that you don't run out of flying time to quickly.
My only CRITICISM (it is advertised to be easy to fly) is that it is not easy to fly at all and that it takes a lot practise to learn it but that is the fun part of the quad opted because it doesn't get boring like many other mini rcs.
All in all: Super quality and flying features but it needs an advanced level of control ability.
