Blade BLH3200 mSR X RTF

I read a ton of reviews trying to figure out which heli to start out with, and landed on the MSRX - and I'm really glad I did. But it's not the right first heli for everyone.

So, here's what I'd suggest:
- If you're a really fast learner and have previous R/C airplane experience (and not just toys - real ones), you can probably fly the MSRX pretty quickly. Keep it tail-in, start with low rates, and switch the pushrods on the swashplate to the shorter balls. And start indoors in a semi-open area (I'm in a place that has only a 10' diameter of clear floor). If you do all of that, you'll probably be fine.
- If you've never flown an R/C aircraft before, don't start here. It's very sensitive, very fast, and very easy to lose control, particularly if you get it turned around.

All in all, though, this thing is great - fast, fun, surprisingly durable, and easy enough to start with but plenty of room to grow and learn. I was hovering indoors the first flight, and quickly went outside in some light wind in a parking lot. I've crashed it lightly a number of times, dropping from even 5' onto pavement, and almost no damage whatsoever. Plus, there are plenty of spare parts!

Oh, and for me, I didn't use any training gear. Again, if you're indoors with soft surfaces, crashes are so gentle that you'll be fine.

Good luck!

  1. I lost the remote for a Brookstone Silver Bullet helicopter. I know that it's not a big deal, but I don't just want to throw it away. If you don't know the answer, can you think of some creative ways I could use the parts of the helicopter? By the way, this helicopter still works perfectly and the romote uses an infrared senser. Thanks!
