Best Review on Plano Guide Series Tackle System

I had just started in the AV Integration market and was looking for a good toolbox to hold all the many small connectors, parts, screws, bolts, BNC and Tools. And this box filled that need perfectly. I have almost every inch of this box full and used.

Only downside is the top lid. When it's full and heavy when you open it, it stats to fall back and it bends the plastic hinge stops. After having it fall back a few times, i stopped keeping it open. I've also used it heavily, sitting on it in front of racks as a small stool as well as stepping on it for a foot stool.

It's great because it can hold an additional 6 divided boxes in the main area. under that white flip lid (which is handy to open instead of the whole top) i have most my tools, and the large pull out box, all my small torches, portable soldering irons, solder ect.

i recommend this toolbox for anyone who uses small parts as well as tools.

I wanted a cheap, but decent quality mini-screwdriver set. This item fit the bill perfectly. I've bought two others over the years. Usually the container that holds the bits disintegrates shortly after I get it, but more importantly, the handles strip themselves out after a couple uses.

Not this kit. The container is decent (not Snap-On quality of course, but decent), and the handle felt very sturdy. For the price I expected much cheaper and crappier on both fronts, I wasn't pleasantly surprised that it exceeded my expectations.

If you want a little kit to sit in your desk/workbench drawer for taking apart Blackberrys, iPhones, MacBooks, etc. then this is the guy for you.

FWIW, I recommend keeping some old prescription pill bottles around to keep the screws you'll be removing from said devices. Otherwise they'll wander away pretty quickly. :)

If I had bought this sim before I started flying my Hobbyzone Champ (no prior experience flying RC planes), I would have saved some money and frustration fixing the plane after numerous beginner crashes. Thankfully, the Champ is cheap to fix. But the faster/more aerobatic planes in my future are not. So I bought this sim.

More than anything, a sim will give you some experience in training your brain to fly an aircraft (helicopter or airplane), as control orientation is a learned skill and can really only come with some training and/or experience. It only takes once for a beginner to turn the plane around and learn that the controls for left/right are now right/left. The end result is usually the ground or a tree. And don't even get me started on learning how to fly a 4 channel helicopter/quad...

There seems to be two main top sim's out there right now. Phoenix and Realflight. Both are about the same price (~$200). Here's why I chose Phoenix 4 over Realflight 6.5:

1) More plane models that I would typically end up purchasing from brands that I know.
2) TONS of planes and helicopters (and a few quad's as well).
3) FREE upgrades for life. Never pay for the upgraded version of the newest software.
4) FREE downloadable extra RC models.
5) FREE extra downloadable flying fields. Both official and user created.
6) It comes with Spektrum DX5e controller. No, it's not as nice as the dx6i, but it's much better than the controllers that come with "RTF" kits. It's nice to learn on the controller I actually will fly with.

The physics in both games are pretty much spot on. If one was much better than the other I'd have that one over any features on my list above.

The graphics are pretty great. I run mine at "HIGH" setting on a Windows 7 2007 laptop with an Intel 2.5GHz Core 2 Duo processor with workstation Nvidia FX graphics. It's not meant for gaming by any means but this runs at 50 frames per second and looks great. So it should run fine on low-mid range hardware pretty easily. You can easily adjust the graphics to fine tune as well.

I recently received my set from Amazon. Id had a cheap set of mini screwdrivers, but wanted a set that was magnetized... as the tiny screws Id tried to put in were too small to handle well with just my finger-tips. The magnet in this one holds the small screws in place very well, and also holds in the tips you put into the handle.. very securely. None of the previous reviews seemed to mention how the swivel handle works. It works well; the top part (the Red part) of the handle swivels, so you can push down on the top of the screwdriver with the palm of your hand, while turning the lower part with your fingers, to screw-in your screw (one-handed); or, you can do it with 2 hands. Either way it works well. Based on previous reviews, I hope my tips dont bend, but I dont plan to disassemble computers or any big projects, just eyeglasses, and small electronics. The insert gives a California address for Boxer, but says made in Taiwan, this is 'free' China, who has been a modern and well-developed country, and strong ally of the US, for many years, I have a lot of trust in workers from there.

Read First Before Buy iFixit 54 Bit Driver Kit

Update Feb. 2013: This kit is still holding up wonderfully. It is used daily on a variety of electronics, and I've yet to break or lose anything. The case is kind of pain, difficult to open with one hand. The bits themselves show no signs of wear, which surprised me considering the amount of abuse to which they're subjected. If you're on the fence about this kit, take my word for it as a technician who depends on these tools: worth every penny if not more.

I repair a variety of electronics at my job. When I started, we had one of these iFixIt kits floating around for everyone to share. Since everyone fought over the one kit, I picked up another set for myself. Everything is very high quality. I've used it for months on a daily basis without damaging anything in the kit. If you work on small electronics/computers, do yourself a favor and buy this set.

Best Review on Align AGNK10338A Ball Link Plier

To be clear, these are not a toy but an important and useful tool. When I first started working on Helis I thought I could remove and attach ball links using my hands or traditional tools. After breaking a few connections, I very quickly realized that these are a basic required tool for heli pilots. I use this pair on Align 450 sized helicopter and they work wonderfully. I have used these on Align 450SEv2, Align 450Sport and Align 450Pro and they work equally well on all 3. They are a bit small for the really large helis (600-700 sizes).

These are the top end, high quality ball links. The pliers are well made and feel good in my hand. You can tell the quality of the casting and workmanship when you compare these to lower end versions. I really like the curved tips, there are places where you really need to have just that bit of a curve to help you get inbetween things and remove/secore the link properly. I also keep astraight pair as there's time and places where one or the other works better.

If you work on RC Helicopters and don't have a pair of these, I promise you will be happy with a pair. They will save you time and money in broken links. Mine were recently stolen in a vehicle burglary and I didn't hesitate to replace them with this very same set.

5 stars, the best ball link pliers I have and I use them all the time.

I purchased both this Land Shark and the Gator Morphibian Radio Control car for my two kids for Christmas. My son is 4-1/2 and my daughter is 3. They are both able to use the controllers with little difficulty now that they have had more practice. Knowing which knob to push to turn the cars left and right was a little tricky at first but they are getting the hang of it. The best thing is that both kids can use both cars at the same time without any problems with the radio frequencies interfering with each other. These cars are pretty tough and can withstand being driven into walls and each other, driven over ramps made out of stacked up books, and even withstand being flipped upside down. We have yet to try them outside as we have about 10 inches of snow right now! I would recommend these cars if you are looking for something fun for your kids (or husband...mine enjoys playing with them as well). The educational value is not overly high in the traditional sense but these cars do work on visual motor, visual perception and problem solving skills.

I bought this to use for my ParkZone Radian plane. This was the recommended receiver. It fits great in the area provided in the plane (even some other 6ch receivers from Spektrum will not). I cut a small piece of foam to wedge between one end of the receiver and the plane to make sure it stays in place.
The antennas are much longer than I expected, but I found that you should NOT trim them.
The antennas should be installed at 90 degrees from each other for optimal performance. I took the long antenna forward into the nose and looped the end so it would fit, and then turned and looped the shorter one to go across the width of the plane near the receiver. I taped them in place so they won't move.
I have used the DX6i transmitter with it and not had any issues. Range seems very good. Definitely satisfied so far.

Our r/c and airsoft crazy 13 year old has been running and racing cars and trucks for about four years, and shooting high-end AEG airsoft rifles for about three. We have boxes full of parts, pieces and support gear all over the place!

The one piece of gear that gets used most often is this EZ-Peak NiMH charger made by Traxxas... it has easily saved us hundreds, probably even thousands, of hours over the years and it just keeps on going.

Our son's first higher end r/c car was a Traxxas Bandit XL5 and that was (and still is) a blast... but waiting for hours between recharges using the standard wall charger unit was not. Right away we realized that a charger upgrade would be a good thing, and we did a little research then purchased this great charger. BAM! A multiple hour job turned into 30 to 45 minute wait, and we purchased a few extra batteries too, in order to always have charged batteries on hand.

Most of our batteries are either hump-back style 6, 7 or 8 cells NiMH batteries ranging from 3300, 4200 or 5000 mAH... or stick-style 7 or 8 cell batteries from 1400 - 1600 mAH. Either way, this awesome charger just ramps the batteries back up to full charge so crazy fast - and the batteries have not been degraded at all either.

The process is very easy - turn the charger on, wait for the ready light, and then charge your battery. Once charged the light will turn green and you are good to go. What I really like about this charger, as compared to others, is that it has a maintenance feature that lowers the power to a trickle-charge once the battery is done -- this prevents killing your battery by accidentally overcharging it.

As another reviewer noted - only charge cool batteries to max battery life and charger life and to be safe. As for the alligator clip lines on the unit -- we left them on and are glad we did because our neighbor's motorcycle battery went down and he used these clip and this charger to get enough juice in his bike to get it started and go to the local NAPA store. Otherwise we keep them wrapped and not touching.

If you have a similar need for a charger, we recommend this one very highly.

Best Review on Traxxas Rustler Water Battery Charger

My six year old son and I got this for a joint Christmas present and we couldn't be happier. I did a lot of research and landed on the Rustler as the most logical choice. I would certainly recommend the bigger front bumper, the wheelie bar and, most of all, an upgraded charger - you don't want a youngin waiting around too long for a battery to charge. After ten glorious minutes of donuts and high speed passes in the driveway at Nana's, we bashed into a snowbank and came down hard on one front wheel. The linkage busted and tears flowed. I called the folks down at Traxxas and, even though it's not a warranty issue, they agreed to mail out some parts. Also, the man looked up the nearest three local hobby shops where I could get parts and by the afternoon we were back in business (in a larger deserted parking lot). Awesome product and great customer service!

The only problem I had with this buggy was the battery that came with it gives bad voltage warning on the car and quick charger, luckily I had no intentions to use it. But the car is extremely quick I am extremely impressed with the quality, speed, and durability. Easily blew past an hpi blitz with a 3750kv engine and a traxxas stampede. The one being sold is the new model with the 2.4 radio and fanned ESC. The only problem with this buggy is turning isn't great, but I expected that with the 4wd. To fix that you can increase the punch setting from the ESC which will allow you to use enough power when the throttle is pressed so you'll power slide are hair pin turns. I've hit a bump going a good 35 mph and landed crooked, the buggy cut about 6 cartwheels and nothing was damaged. Has great torque as well, put the buggy against a brick wall the the 4wd allowed it to climb flat against the wall. And the stock ESC has low voltage cut-off to protect your LIPOs, so if you don't use LIPOs you may want to turn that off. So all around this was a great purchase, I'm extremely happy with it.

Read First Before Buy Air Hogs Hover Assault Black

I bought two of these for my eleven year old boys this christmas. We have other airhogs so we have some basic flying skills and this toy at first seemed very hard to fly and wasnt much fun. We kept trying though and finally figured out the whole launch button on the remotes top left corner and if pressed fast it hops and if pressed and held for a second it goes into a fly mode. If held in it just hops and crashes. So dont start with car on the ground,pick it up and hold it lose in your right hand while holding the controller in the left hand. Now give it just a little throttle not even half way and then hold the launch button for a second or untill the rpm increase and the car takes flight then release the launch button and now you are flying at eye level nice hovering. after doing this a few times you will learn the feel and be able to drive to fly, to land to fly. This is very fun and has much more control then the small havoc heli they sell.We are now able to make this thing drive on the ground then take flight and controle the missle launch and are now getting very acurate with them.The right trigger on the remote will fire the missles when held down.Great toy and very easy to fly once you understand the launch button and how it works. Hours of fun for two eleven year old boys and their thiry seven year old dad.

This little car is something else!! The Traxxas 1/16 E-Revo is hands down the fastest, most strongest RC I have ever owned. I dreamed of having a nice remote control car growing up as a kid and this ride makes up for years I missed out on. The steering is precise and the speed of this car FRESH OUT OF THE BOX is crazy fast!.....of course this is after a 6 hour, first time charge-up. This car can be modified in many ways as well. Everywhere you look on this vehicle are screws to adjust and so on.

Note: Be sure not to race this car at full blast while all four wheels are off the ground as the manual states. If you get on YouTube you will notice countless people doing this act to show off the cars power, its not good for the motor and differential.

The company that I purchased the car from "HobbySoup" did an awesome job in getting this car to me in an expeditious manner, and brand spanking new condition, they live by their word. Thank you HobbySoup!!

Like anything else you pay for the name on the side. But in the 3 times I have taken my truck out with their Traxxas, HPI and Axial trucks; I have only broken one part due to my own error. They have broke several. This is a great truck for first time RC buyers. Straight out the box I got 20 min of run time and I was just testing it out. Still had battery left. On a full charge about 45 min. The ESC is easy to program and change. The truck handles very well. Minor adjustments need to be made but you can set the truck up for what ever your prefrences are. Senin, 12 November 2012 Amazing Preformance Best Review on Traxxas Slash Short Course Racing 5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Preformance, April 26, 2013 A Kid's Review Review on Traxxas RTR Slash 2WD Short Course Racing Truck This is one of the best Short Course trucks that I have ever driven primarily because of its durability and I've used many including the LOSI XX4 WORLDS EDITION, and the TEAM ASSOCIATED RC10 T3. It is so durable that if you run it into a curb intentionally, it doesn't even scratch. Yes, I know that the price can seem expensive, but its ability to crash into curbs and not break in half, it's totally worth it. I would recommend this truck for a beginner, like a son or grandson. Like I said, durability is at the top of the line for this truck. The price range for these puppies runs around about $200 -$300. If you take care of this monster, the electronics, engine, chassis, it WILL last most likely forever. I have had mine for 3 years, and it works just fine. One drawback- after paying all of that money, this car does not include battery, which is $20, and the charger, (I recommend getting the HITEC X1 AC PLUS charger, which is $75.) Minggu, 11 November 2012 Works wonders Read First Before Buy Noctua 40x10mm A Series Bearing Premium I purchased this 40mm Noctua fan as an upgrade to replace a 35mm fan included with my Asus Z77 Sabertooth motherboard. The board comes with an alternate plastic attachment which allows users to install a 40mm behind the rear I/0. The fan produces next to no sound. At full speed (Approx 4300 RPMs), I must put my ear directly over the fan to detect any sort of noise. The noise I do detect is a faint but high pitched sound comparable to that of a mosquito's wings: innocuous at a distance of more than six inches. In comparison to generic 35mm fans I have two observations. First, unlike my 35mm fans from Asus, the 40mm Noctua does not seem to produce any motor or coil whine as I perceived it. The Z77 Sabertooth's stock fans produce a high pitched hum similar to an inexpensive RC Car. This humming is clearly heard at any RPM over my PC's other components. Second, the 40mm Noctua's cooling performance is unmistakably superior. In my opinion, the Noctua's high pressure is the primary factor contributing to its cooling success. Before installing the 40mm Noctua I ran tests recording temperatures at various locations on the Z77 Sabertooth. After comparing results, only VCCIO/VCCSA temperatures benefited from using the "Center Board". No cooling effect from the rear I/0 fan could be detected when using the included 35mm fan from Asus. I decided to remove and not replace the center board fan because it only supports a 35mm fan size of which I could find no silent alternatives. After installing the 40mm Noctua behind the rear I/0, the VCORE(Back) temperatures dropped 7 to 10 degrees Celsius. Furthermore, the back panel of my computer case is now noticeably cooler to the touch when the CPU is pushed to full load. In conclusion, the 40mm Noctua fan is a great investment for my particular setup. The NF-A4x10 provides improved cooling performance to the most thermally stressed area of my Z77 Sabertooth. Sabtu, 10 November 2012 Stampede/Slash 4x4 Brusless Read First Before Buy Venom 5400mAh Battery Universal System Just when i thought 2s lipos where good enough for me. I installed this on my converted Stampede and it is so much funner. I started out with the NiHM stock battery, moved up to 2s lipos, and now this 3s. If your new to RC, i would recommend practicing with lower batteries or putting your ESC on safe mode before you crash into your neigbors car, light pole, mail boxes, etc. The speed and power this gives out is pure fun. My stampede can do instant wheelies from a start and when half throttle. This is a 5400 size and will be too thick for the stock battery holder so be sure to take a note on that. I am also concerned on the amount of stress and heat the motor produces. You can smell that metal plastic melty smell so use caution when playing in hot or long days. It last for well over 30 bashing minutes and will diff recommend this. Again, more power works that engine motor. I recommend getting a ESC fan and letting it rest when playing. Compared to friends who spent a $100 more for similar packages including motor size, scale, and 4wd it is on par with speed. My first run only lasted about 10 minutes. I took it on hard compact sand/dirt and it ran like a champ. Similar speeds to a 2WD Traxxas Stampede running a 2S 5000 mAH LiPO, but it ultimately lacked the top speed. After about 5 minutes of on the dirt, I took it to the road. On the road this thing was flying. This package is great for a beginner into RC cars.
