Read First Before Buy iFixit 54 Bit Driver Kit
Update Feb. 2013: This kit is still holding up wonderfully. It is used daily on a variety of electronics, and I've yet to break or lose anything. The case is kind of pain, difficult to open with one hand. The bits themselves show no signs of wear, which surprised me considering the amount of abuse to which they're subjected. If you're on the fence about this kit, take my word for it as a technician who depends on these tools: worth every penny if not more.
I repair a variety of electronics at my job. When I started, we had one of these iFixIt kits floating around for everyone to share. Since everyone fought over the one kit, I picked up another set for myself. Everything is very high quality. I've used it for months on a daily basis without damaging anything in the kit. If you work on small electronics/computers, do yourself a favor and buy this set.
BalasHapusI absolutely love this kit. The moment you take it out of the case, you cant handle this thing without feeling the quality. The selection of bits is wonderful, and the folks at iFixit have really figured their customers needs out. Its got bits for everything I possibly could need.
BalasHapusMy only complaint is that the adapter bit does not stay in its spot very well. Other than that, this products quality is very high.
I have never, ever purchased such a quality and complete set of bit drivers for such an outstanding price. I bought these for the single triwing bit to replace the battery in my MacBook. Do yourself a favor, bypass buying the single tri-wing screw driver for about 6 bucks and put in the extra 18 dollars for this set. It has already paid for itself because Apple wanted $129 to change that battery and I purchased this set plus the batter for $90.
BalasHapusThis driver kit has all the bits you need to work on electronics. The bits seem to be durable and the handle is large enough to apply as much torque as needed. I have already used this kit to replace the hard drive in my iMac and replace the battery in my iPhone. The carry case is quite convenient and the bits are clearly marked. I would recommend this kit to anyone who works on their electronic devices.
BalasHapusSo many times I have purchased computer tools where the metal is soft and the bits will strip on trying to loosen tight mini and micro screw heads. This is the first kit that seems to be made as a quality tool kit that has durable bits that can be used time after time. Great tool set for the professional tech or hobbyist and would make a great gift.
BalasHapusAfter purchasing a couple of other lower quality screwdriver sets, I noticed how important it is to actually have a high quality set.
BalasHapusBad drill bits actually wear away extremely quickly, and even worse, they sometimes strip the screws. And that is not something you want to happen, especially with your precious and expensive electronics like in my case, my Macbook Pro.
Since I bought the new Retina Macbook, I already needed a new drill bit (pentalobe) to be able to open it up.
So I decided to buy this one and haven't been disappointed.
High quality build and extensive selection of drill bit shapes and sizes.
Did not strip any of my Macbook screws and I am happy about that.
The case is a little on the cheap side but I don't think that should be relevant to your buying decision
Well designed and thought out this tool set is a pleasure to use. A friend of mine had bought one and within 5 minutes of using this tool set I had to have one for myself. I even give it 5 stars after mistakenly breaking the tab that holds the case together (completely my fault - not a design flaw)
