F645 2 4GHZ Single Helicopter Colors

This is a fast fun to fly durable heli. I have had this for a month now and so far it has performed well. I have even flown it with snow on the ground. On one of the heli forums there is a thread about this model that have over 7 thousand posts! On Youtube there is a video that will show you how to modify this heli to get the most out of it, and to help it to last a long time.

It took me a while to figure out the Transmitter, it can do quite a lot including switching your sticks so the throttle can be on the left or right, and you can also choose which side you what to control the turns and the sways. You need 4 AA batteries for the transmitter.

It comes with an AC charger, extra main blades and tail blade. Outstanding heli and I'm glad Amazon is selling it. I must prefer to buy through Amazon than through the Chinese store. It looks like most of the helis are being sold by manufacturers in China. It can take a month to get your order from there and if something is wrong, well it can be a mess returning.

Hope to see many more 4 channel selections of quality helis like this one being sold by Amazon.

  1. Really loving this bird. I also have the WLToys 911, and Double Horse 9116. I share other reviewer's glowing opinion of the MJX F45. If you're stepping up to 4-channel fixed-pitched from a 3-channel CO-AX, this bird is a good choice for the following reasons.
    1. Robust build. Although it is constructed mostly of plastic, the type of plastic is very sturdy and can withstand some serious crashes. I know from personal experience. I crashed mine full speed into a chain link fence and sustained no major damage. The confidence you have from knowing that your helo will not break into thousands of little pieces if you make a mistake and crash will allow you to relax and learn about flying. If you're relaxed, you're less like to panic, which is usually the reason for crashes.
    2. Excellent price. For $100-$110, you're getting a lot of RC helicopter. Again, you can fly with confidence because you're not worried about destroying a $600-$800 investment.
    3. Availability of replacement parts. The thing about RC helicopters is that parts wear out or get destroyed in crashes. You must have a way to replace them when this happens. With the MJX F45, you can find inexpensive replacement parts from multiple internet sources. This will allow you to keep your bird flying for many, many flights (almost indefinitely).
    4. Stable flight. This is not the most responsive helo, which is a good thing for a newbie, who tends to overfly or overcontrol.

For V911 pilots, I offer this observation:

The MJX F45 will NOT turn on a dime like a V911. It is 10x bigger, so it has more mass. More mass means it can build up speed and momentum real fast. When you first fly it, you will notice that it slides a bit out of turns and banks due to its mass. You sometimes have to wrestle with it to get it to stop moving once it has gained some momentum. Get used to it because it because this is the way this bird flies. Give yourself a little more margin of error because you will NOT be able to recover from mistakes as quickly as you would with the V911.

    Happy landings!

  2. For the money this little bird cant be beat. It's a 250 to 300 size chopper, great for flying outdoors. It's really easy to set-up and adjust. If you are a beginner to R/C Helicopters I would highly recommend that you start with this one.

  3. I have a fleet of about 20 choppers of all sizes and this one by far exceeds any of the products I have flown and used in the past. I would highly reccomend this to anyone who has some to little experience with flying Rc helicopters.

  4. I have about 8 small 3 channel indoor and 3 outdoor helicopters, all that just lift the tail to go forward and usually won't handle any wind at all so pretty useless outside. Fun for a while but got boring. I read the reviews of this one and liked it. It appears to have all the features I was lacking in the others with an almost fully programmable transmitter and good action. I especially like that I can program what the transmitter's stick functions so that it matches the smaller remotes and I can set the sensitivity to match my experience. It moves as fast as I can handle (a little too fast right now). I have flown this one 3 times so far, crashed seveal times and no problems. It keeps on flying Each time it takes off easy and lands without tipping over. I just reordered one with the camera for a backup and so I can keep flying as it takes about 2 hours to charge. It is great! I would highly suggest getting this heli AFTER learning with the smaller indoors ones.
I wanted to add a comment after gettnig the 2nd unit. It seems both experience a slight problem. Sometimes the remote will not respond to the rudder command. I have to back up and land or just cut the throttle.

this is one great helo I paid $86 bucks for mine including shipping over at banggood, but the mods are a huge help, heat sinks, lipo battery, canopy mod, landing skid rubber nuts, this bird is not easy to fly should have some flying behind you before trying, that said, I love how this handles, smooth, hovers great, great head speed even into wind, love that you can control the percentage of use on your sticks I like 85%, default is 90%, makes much more easy to fly, no dual rates on the remote but at this price that be asking too much this computer really tried to go towards the hobby end grade on this helo, once I completed my mods it fly's just as good as my $159 Walkera V200D02 and better than any Eflite Blade, so if your into the market for a good 4 channel but the hobby grades at over $150 is to pricey and the lower grade double horse not enough power this is the bird, watch my video I posted here, that was my very 1st flight and after the mods were all done posted pictures here also with all the mods done also.

This is my 3rd heli ever. I'm been slowly teaching myself to fly so I can shoot aerial video. I'm a videographer by trade. So, all my heli purchases are based off my end game, which is to fly a DSLR. The MJX F45, for me, is a solid step in that direction. I was easily able to mount a GoPro to the front and relocate the battery for stable, balanced flight. The F45 lifts the additional weight of the GoPro without the housing (slightly less than the stock battery) without problem. I can still easily control the heli, even in a slight breeze. I have been able to fly the F45 higher than I should given my skill level. I've learned a ton with this heli. It's my first 4ch and first single blade. I've crashed it an embarrassing about of times and it's bounced back with very little damage. It even survived a huge fall shown in the video, with a camera attached, and still took to the air afterward (although it now flies horribly and needs repair).

I did not hesitate to purchase a replacement. I know that I can reliably use this as a small scale aerial video platform for my work.

If you'd like to see a higher quality version of the video I posted, you can find it on Vimeo here:[...]

  7. Was initially sceptical but this heli has been great. for the money it is outstanding. i have crashed it from 15 feet in the air and no damage. had a mid air with another heli,,, chopped his main rotor off and on mine - no damage. great handling, servo arms can be replaced with longer ones for more manuverability. note can only handle light winds out doors. I am flying more complex/expensive heli's but always go back to this one because it is so much fun.

  8. I decided to buy the MJX F645 4 channel helicopter after reading many positive reviews, including that of Dan (THX Kid). It was also on sale at a local retailer at a great price, and spare parts seem to be readily available as well. The radio is 2.4 GHz and has a longer range than the 27-40 MHz offerings. All plus points!
My only prior experience was with 3 channel co-axials, and I don't have access to a simulator. I didn't even have training landing gear attached. I am also not a video gamer, and was never any good at them either (just mentioning all this to indicate that I have just average hand-eye coordination skills!)Yet I was able to take this helicopter off, fly and land safely. The remote has the option to select what the manufacturer calls "Mod 2", and I selected this, since it resembles 3 channel control setups, in which the left stick controls throttle, and the right stick controls elevator and rudder. Experienced pilots would select what the manufacturer calls "Mod 4" (which is actually the conventional Mode 2!), in which the right stick controls elevator and aileron, and the left throttle and rudder. The ultimate aim of flying electric helis is enjoyment, and everyone will agree that suffering a bad crash at the beginning is not particularly enjoyable for most, so that's why I decided to use "Mod 2", till I became more familiar with the flight characteristics of this heli. I also used a large, open field, at a time when there would be no-one around (safety first!), with very little wind (early morning). Having a large, open area is very important if you don't have experience and are unfamiliar with the flight characteristics of your machine. It gives you more space to make mistakes and then corrections, without suffering a crash. This helicopter (like all single rotors) will drift to the left on take-off, so be prepared for that. It will also be `blown' fairly easily by wind, so be prepared for that as well. A feature of the remote is the ability to set the controls by percentage of full movement. I used 65% setting for throttle, and 75% for elevator, ailerons and rudder. Again this is a very useful feature for beginners like me.
In conclusion this seems a great product even for pilots with limited experience, provided they take the appropriate precautions. Remember that this is not a toy, meaning it can cause serious injury or damage to you or others. Always fly with an experienced pilot in attendance, within the limits of your ability.
