Awesome Flyer

Best Review on RC Toys Village Channel Helicopter

RC Toys Village Channel Helicopter

I've flown RC planes while I was a kid. Wanted good solid trainer that parts were cheap and easy to find. DH9074 fit the bill. Rain or shine I can fly indoors and out (unlike infrared models). I can see kids 13 and under who have never flown before getting impatient and quitting. Like all RC flying, there is a learning curve. Unlike when I was a kid, there are plently of good simulators out there. I highly recomend FMS, which is freeware. You can use your keyboard. Heli's are far more touchy than airplanes. Things need to be balanced, like all high speed spinning objects. I've learned with coaxial heli's is to losen the blades and let centrifugal force spin the blades straight. Otherwise you are CONSTANTLY having to restraighten the blades. Otherwise, once things are trimmed, things are rock-solid stable. RC aircraft have come a long way from $100 radio/servos. Already dreaming about the DH9116 4 Channel.

  3. I started flying RC helicopters with a 400 class 6 channel. OUCH! I eventually learned to fly pretty well, after hundreds of dollars and hours up hours, ending up with a T-Rex 450 with upgraded everything. Eventually I sold it all because I realized I wasn't enjoying myself so much because of the fear of crashing - which was almost always expensive. Then I got a palm-sized 3 channel heli (not this one) and found fun again. So I bought my daughter this heli... and WOW! Am I impressed!!! This heli is much quieter than the competition, even quieter than my palm sized one, which is half the size of this one! And the gyro on this thing is as good as the very expensive one I had on my T-Rex! Yet it is very light and durable, despite its size (half way between palm sized and 450 size). I landed it in my lap - the blades hit my torso and I felt zero pain. That's safe! A 450 would have sliced my gut open and... well, it would have been a trip to the hospital to say the least.

If you're looking to pick up a hobby in RC helicopters, or upgrade from your crappy little 3 channel, get this heli, you won't be disappointed. The lights are an added bonus and look cool in dimly lit places. It WILL fly outside with no wind. Also, pay close attention to any helicopter in this class wether you're getting Infrared technology or RF (Radio Frequency). This helicopter is RF, which can go through things, IR can't. RF also has a greater effective distance.

  4. Got this for my son for his 9th birthday. He had it flying in no time. It flies pretty good outside as long as it's not very windy.

  5. This is a step up from the mini or micro helicopters and it performs great. It's quick even in the slow position (toggle switch on the transmitter). I own smaller and larger helicopters and can say that I enjoy flying the DH9074. Only flown indoors but I'm sure that as with all RC helicopters, it will do fine outside in no/low wind conditions.

  6. I couldn't wait to write this review. This is "the" best rc helicopter on the market for the money! This is my 5th heli, and for the size and price, there is no comparison. It's easy to fly for people that have experience, and perfect for beginners as well. Very responsive and has a toggle switch on the remote for both pilots. Has exceptional power when needed, by comparison to other helix that seem to lack forward thrust. I haven't taken it outside yet, but I can tell that it will perform as expected. Battery takes forever to charge, 150 minutes. But it will fly for 25, which is unheard of with other juniors. If you are looking for an affordable, durable rc helicopter. Buy this one!
