WE bought this toy yesterday so I cannot comment on the durability. I have been looking for a good quality, and well priced remote controlled car for my son who just turned 4 yesterday, and this car seemed to be what I was looking for. The tires light when it car moves and it is pretty fast. There are two sticks on the remote control and if you push the left stick forward the left two wheels go forward which means the car will make complete right turn circle and vice verse, but if you push both of the sticks forward the entire car moves forward, and if moved both stick backward the car moves backward. Therefore, if you want the car to make a left turn you only press the left stick forward, without touching the right stick. I am very pleased with it so far, and I will follow up with an update. I usually do not give entertainment toys high rating for the educational, but with this car, my son who turned four yesterday, was able to maneuver and control it well even-though he did not have any experience with RC toys before.
